These are two favorite paintings from my days living downtown San Diego a block away from Fire Station 4.

I painted them in the early 90's while on duty as a paramedic at the Airport Fire Station.

They were done as a gift to the men of Fire Station 4, who gave me extraordinary hospitality during my years as a paramedic.

The paint wasn't even dry when one of the firemen loaded up the paintings and took them to Station 4.

I never even varnished them and they still hang in the station to this day.

I even heard a rumor that the walls in the new Fire Station 4, which will be built soon, had to be redesigned to accomodate the paintings.

Now is that really true?
